El martes 29 de julio, el Departamento de Transporte de Massachusetts (MassDOT) celebró una audiencia pública virtual sobre el plan de reconstrucción de Bridge Street (Ruta 107) desde el oeste de la intersección con Washington Street hasta Flint Street. El MassDOT espera que el proyecto se financie con un 80 % de fondos federales y un 20 % de fondos estatales.

The City Council’s Committee of the Whole met recently to hear a development proposal from Prime Group, the owners of Shetland Park. The meeting was highly informative especially once the City Council started asking questions of the presenters.

On Wednesday, 19 February 2025, the Salem City Council and Planning Board met with residents in a joint public hearing to discuss potential changes to the current B1 Zoning Ordinance. The proposed change would allow for two commercial uses in Salem's B1 districts: commercial recreation and indoor restaurants with service of alcoholic beverages.
