On September 9th, 2025, the Federal Street Neighborhood Association and Chestnut Street Associates welcomed all three candidates from Ward 2 to a forum at the Hamilton Hall. Thank you to all who came, all those involved in organizing the forum, District Attorney Paul Tucker for moderating, and Salem Access Television for recording the event.

On September 8th, 2025, the League of Women Voters, Downtown Neighborhood Association, and Salem Common Neighborhood Association welcomed the three candidates from Ward 1 and three candidates from Ward 2 to a joint forum at the Salem Waterfront Hotel. On Tuesday, the 29th of July, The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) held a virtual public hearing on the plan for the reconstruction of Bridge Street (Route 107) from just west of the Washington Street intersection to Flint Street. MassDOT expects the project to be funded with 80% federal funding and 20% state funding.

The City Council’s Committee of the Whole met recently to hear a development proposal from Prime Group, the owners of Shetland Park. The meeting was highly informative especially once the City Council started asking questions of the presenters.
